Stocks to watch Thursday: Brinker, Kohl’s

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — Among the stocks that could see active trade in Thursday’s session are Brinker International, Kohl’s and Wendy’s.
Brinker EAT +0.93%  is slated to report its fiscal fourth quarter results before the opening bell. The restaurant company is expected to earn 58 cents a share on revenue of $734.3 million, according to the average estimate of analysts polled by FactSet. Same-store sales are seen rising 2.6%.
Kohl’s KSS +0.44%  is also up and the department store chain will post a profit of 96 cents a share on revenue of $4.21 billion and a same-store sales decrease of 2.7% if Wall Street’s best guesses are on the mark.

And Wendy’s WEN -0.22%  will earn a nickel a share with sales of $647.9 million if it meets analyst expectations. Same-store sales are expected to be up 2.8%.
Other firms scheduled to release quarterly financials include Advance Auto AAP -0.13%  , Alliant TechSystemsATK -0.21%  and Elizabeth Arden RDEN -0.66%  .
Late Wednesday, shares of Monster Beverage MNST -1.58% were beaten down after the company posted second-quarter results that came in below Wall Street expectations.
Boingo Wireless WIFI -5.36%  also took a hit after posting a decline in earnings that also came up shy of analyst hopes.
